The Tampa neighborhoods of Palmetto Beach Community Association, Historic Ybor Neighborhood Civic Association, East Ybor Historic and Civic Association, and V.M. Ybor Neighborhood Association invite you to participate in our 2010 Candidates Forum.  The forum will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2010, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Tampa IKEA Community Room located at 1103 N. 22nd Street, Tampa, FL 33605.

In anticipation of the November election, we are inviting all United States, State of Florida and Hillsborough County candidates.  Below is a list of offices up for election.  Each candidate will be allowed 3 minutes to give a short version campaign speech, followed by a brief question and answer period after all candidates for that particular office have spoken.

This is your opportunity to hear the candidates speak and ask questions!

The YCDC now offers FREE help to start a businesses or assist and improve your existing business.  This program is open to ALL residents and businesses in Ybor City (CRA 1 & 2).  We hope this initiative will strengthen and build the business community in Ybor City.  This assistance is FREE of charge and paid for by YOUR tax dollars.  All information is confidential.  HYNCA encourages you to use the program if you’re interested in starting a business or looking to improve or expand your existing business.

The City of Tampa Ybor City Development Corporation in conjunction with the Hillsborough County Small Business Information Center (SBIC) have partnered to establish a Business Technical Assistance Program to provide FREE Resources and FREE one-on-one counseling to the Ybor City Business Community.  Counseling may include business plan assistance, enterprise zone incentives, marketing ideas, business disaster preparation as well as basic business start-up information for potential businesses who may want to start in the Ybor Area.
In order to make it convenient and since so many businesses are owned and operated by the same individual, Counselors will be glad to provide counseling at the owner’s place of business.

Please mark your calendars for Mayor Iorio’s 2nd town hall meeting on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Philip Shore Elementary Magnet School of the Arts in the media center from 6 to 8 p.m.  Philip Shore Elementary Magnet School of the Arts is located at 1908 E. 2nd Avenue, in Ybor City.

All town hall meetings are free and open to the public and are organized to make city government more accessible to Tampa’s residents.   City administrators and department representatives will be available to answer questions on a variety of topics.
